Orson Scott Card’s Ender’s Game Gets Its First Trailer!

Enders game

The film adaptation of Orson Scott Card’s best-selling, award winning Sci-Fi novel Ender’s Game has been released!

Ender’s Game takes place sometime in the future where humanity has somehow survived two attacked by the insectoid aliens, the Buggers. While they are preparing for the inevitable third invasion they set up the Battle School, a military-run academy built in order to train the worlds most talented children to find future fleet commanders. The protagonist is Ender Wiggins (played by Asa Butterfield) who really has no chance of entering the school until one day when he gets into a brawl with a bully and fatally injures him.

While explaining that he had to establish superiority in order to prevent future encounter the IF Commander Hyrum Graff (played by Harrison Ford) decides that Ender will be admitted into the Battle School. As you can probably already guess, Ender displays amazing tactical skills and ends up being humanities last hope against the Buggers.

I remember reading this book many many years ago and I remember enjoying it so I am excited that it is being adapted into a film. I am also glad that Scott Card is co-producing the film as I love when the original creators are involved when it comes to adaptations. I will probably trying and read the book again before the film hits theaters this Fall. Who knows maybe I will also end up reading the rest of the series as well.

Ender’s Game hits theaters on November 1st, 2013.
