Well, my little holiday that I personally titled, “Scott Pilgrim Week”, is finally over. With me re-reading the books, the PSN game (which rocked all sorts of ass) and the movie itself, it was definitely all Pilgrim for me.

My girlfriend and I ended up going to the midnight release and we loved it. The movie was surprisingly spot on and did a hell of a job on staying faithful to the source material. They even captured all the wacky video game style fight sequences. The first half of the film was pretty much identical to the plot from the books. The second half told the same story but just in a different way. My only gripe is that I feel that a lot of the support characters were kind of left out and were never really fleshed out as much as I wanted (I mean what happened with Kim? She was a pretty important figure in Scott’s life). Don’t get me wrong, I loved the movie and you can blame my inner nerd for the petty complaints. So I could sit here and talk about every single detail that was left out, but it would not change the fact that the movie was awesome. I’m just glad that they stayed true to the plot, and not end up “Hollywood-izing” the story (Dragon Ball, I’m looking in your direction).

If you really do not follow or have read Scott Pilgrim, don’t let that deter you from watching a highly enjoyable movie last. I mean hell, my girlfriend loved it and she has never even touched any of the books.
