I gotta start by saying it has been a weird week in the gaming world. First with the whole “ApocolyPS3” debacle. It’s funny how one day of PSN being down can cause such an uproar. It wasn’t that big of a deal for me since as of late its rare to turn on my PS3 for  a game unless its an exclusive. The funny thing is that it only affected older or “Fat” PS3s, which is what I own. I know people would probably disagree but I seriously would not mind paying for PSN as long as it was as solid as Xbox Live. I do not mind giving my money to something as long as its worth it. PSN just feels…incomplete. I hope the rumors are true and they will start charging us for the service.

The other thing that happened was the whole Infinity Ward vs Activision battle that started early in the week. I really can’t believe they got rid of Jason West and Vince Zampella. The two men in charge of the studio who probably kept Activision afloat last year. The grounds for dismissal was supposedly insubordination and breaches of contract. You know normally I would not condone but after hearing Activision’s plans for Call of Duty I don’t care too much what they were up to. It’s disgusting to  hear that they are trying to milk and water down what is a pretty damn impressive series(at least the Infinity Ward developed entries). An Action Adventure title? Are you fucking serious Activision?! I think someone needs to send security over to THEIR offices and terminate someone. It just reminds me of the older EA.  Hopefully Mr. West and Mr. Zampella find somewhere better or end up making another studio.

This week also had some good releases such  Battlefield Bad Company 2, Mega Man 10, MLB10 The Show, as well as MLB 2K10. I picked up Battlefield and I gotta say the game  is such a blast. Its as if they took Modern Warfare 2 and injected it with steroids. Nothing beats the ability to be sniping people one minute and then be in a helicopter raining fire down on people in mere moments. Its also does and amazing job of making you want to do your job in the game(Medic Engineer, Recon, Assault).  The campaigns pretty good so far from what I have played. They toned down the over the top funnies and went with a bit more realistic tone. I normally would have finished it by now but multi-player keeps dragging me back in to be honest. I am trying to get Luis to play the game and see what I am talking about, hopefully he will try it out soon. Either that or just murder me since all I do is mention it constantly. I also downloaded Mega Man 10 and boy is it still hard as hell. Playing this reminds me of how pampered we are as gamers nowadays. I remember when there were no check points or mid-game save and you had to beat a game in one sitting or have to restart the whole thing next time you played. Its tough but I gotta admit I am loving every second of it.

I ended up buying MLB10 The Show. It is probably one of the best and most realistic sports titles I have ever played. The realism is insane and the attention to detail just drops my jaw. I don’t know if its just that I haven’t touched a sports game in years but holy crap is it difficult. The game really does a great job of making me feel like I am useless. The funny thing is though its still a really enjoyable game. Luis ended up checking out the game as well. We were stoked to play a sports title again against each other. How was it you ask? Don’t know,we will let you know as soon as we get a chance to play the damned game online. We seriously spent over an hour on two different days just trying to connect to no avail. I don’t know if it was PSN or one of our connections but it was incredibly frustrating to not be able to play. The worst part is we found absolutely no reason as to why it could not work. We posted on boards and searched Sony’s site and found nothing. It really took me out of mood to be honest. It just reminded me of what is was like to try and play PS2 titles online.

Moving on, this weeks comic is basically our way of saying goodbye to the character Eddie. He provided us with tons of laughs and a lot of good times. Luis thought it would be a good idea to send him off via a comic. I think he was totally right and so we came up with the strip. That’s pretty much it for this week, not much more to say but ill leave you with this…

I'm with Team Coco..er Infinity Ward.
