God of Motherfucking War…
March 21st, 2010 |“Holy shit.”
That’s pretty much what I was saying the entire time I was playing God of War III. It is supposed to be the end of the trilogy, and man does it end in style. Kratos is back, looking for revenge and nothing will get in his way, not even Gods. I mean the beginning sequence is probably more epic than most other games finales. The story picks up right where part 2 left off, on top of a Titan on his way to Olympus. Everything in this game is tight and most of all gorgeous. The game runs with such fluidity it is insane. Sony’s Santa Monica Studios definitely put a lot of work in crafting this masterpiece. If you have played any of the other titles in the series there is nothing new or different as far as game play. So if you are looking for some innovation you might be a tad disappointed. They took the same formula but added so much polish and detail that you wont even care. The combat is still as solid and brutal as ever and the QTEs are still jaw dropping(even more so with the added power of the PS3). If you have yet to pick up a PS3 this is the time to do it. God of War III stands out as one of the best titles on the system and has to be experienced by every PS3 owner. I am definitely going to be writing up a review for this one.
This week s strip is basically an answer to the question of why isn’t (insert SEGA character here) in Sonic and Sega All-Star Racing. Which by the way the game is surprisingly polished and should be looked at by anyone who was ever a fan of SEGA games. They did a great job paying homage to a lot of memorable SEGA games. If you are a fan of Mario Kart series do yourself a favor and take a look at the game. It is very solid and fun. I have pretty much been busy this week with God of War III and Yakuza 3. It feels good to have a reason to turn on my PS3 and actually play some solid exclusives. I also downloaded a couple of gems on PSN for my PSP with Patchwork Heroes and Age of Zombies. Both of which are really solid titles for psp and if you are looking for something to play on your handheld you should check them out.
Luis and I were talking the other day about how many solid titles we have had this year. Bayonetta, Darksiders, God of War 3, Yakuza 3, Battlefield Bad Company 2, Bioshock 2, Heavy Rain, Tatsunoku vs Capcom just to name a few. We also realized another important fact, we are still only in MARCH. There is still so much more this year on its way. God it feels good to be a gamer.
